Longmans, Green and Co, 1898. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1898. Reprint. 406 pages. No dust jacket. Red cloth covered boards with gilt. Full page and in-text monochrome illustrations. Decorated endpapers and pastedowns. Rough-cut pages have mild tanning and foxing throughout. Heavier to endpapers and text block edges. Previous owner's inscription to half title page. Binding remains firm. Noticeable brown stains with faint thumb-marks throughout. Text remains legible. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Noticeable tanning to spine and edges with some crushing to spine ends. Minor fraying to spine edges. Gilt lettering is darkened. Faint water stains overall. Book is slightly bowed and forward leaning.
