In "Michener's the Name," Vavra invites Michener fans into the author's life with a singular portrait that spans nearly forty years. When they met, Michener was fifty-four years old and Vavra twenty-six. Throughout their ensuing thirty-six-year friendship, Vavra would photograph Michener at work and at play. This singular portrait of James Michener by photographer Robert Vavra includes more than 150 duotone photographs taken over the course of their 36-year friendship, and offers readers their first chance to meet the very private man whose spellbinding sagas moved their minds and hearts. Pages are bright and clean (no writing, underlining, or highlighting). Binding is tight with no cracks or breaks. Unclipped DJ has some minor bumping to edges, light rubbing to corners. Looks nice in protective mylar covering. This is not a remainder or ex-library. Very nice copy.. First Edition. Oversized Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Mylared.
