About This Item

New York, NY, U.S.A.: Routledge, 1993. Hard Cover. Near Fine/No Jacket. This study is an attempt to clarify the relation between microeconomics and macroeconomics, since few economists are able to give an accurate account of what distinguishes them; the interest in the microfoundations of macroeconomics has typically been regarded as a consequence of the view that economics is about the reational behavior of individuals, and that macroeconomic propositions are a result of the interactions of individuals; the author, Professor of Microeconomics at Erasmus University in Rotterdam, argues that it is microeconomics' concern with the functioning of markets rather than its concern with rational individual behavior that underlies theories which attempt to provide macroeconomics with microfoundations (black cloth with silver lettering on front & spine, slight mark on front endpaper from sticker removal; otherwise a bright, clean, tight copy)
