Mid 20th century half navy blue morocco over blue cloth boards by Sangorski and Sutcliffe. Five raised bands, gilt decorated compartments, titles in gilt to the spine. Top edge gilt, all other edges untrimmed. Marbled endpapers.Illustrated by Arthur with 40 mounted colour plates, each with a captioned tissue guard, and numerous line drawings throughout the text by Arthur Rackham. An excellent example, the binding square and firm and without fading or loss. The contents, with a previous owner's ink name to the black front endpaper and toning to the text pages throughout are otherwise clean. Some tissue guards are lightly spotted, all 40 of the tipped in plates are present as called for and in fine condition. An excellent example, beautifully illustrated and presented. Limited to 1000 copies, this copy hand numbered numbered 370 and signed by Arthur Rackham on the limitation page. Further details and images for any of the items listed are available on request.
