London : Constable , 1914 . First Edition, Third Issue . VG/Good . 4TO . Twelve mounted colour plates and 32 full page black and white illustrations as well as chapter heads and tail pieces by W Heath Robinson. Some of his very best work. Bound in quarter cream buckram over green cloth. Beare 77d. No other date but 1919. Corners bumped, one (top front) frayed. Small owner's name and date (1921) on half-title. Brown jacket reproduces one of the silhouettes on front panel. Jacket is chipped with several small tears and evidence of old dampstaining on rear which has faintly affected rear board. A nice copy in the very scarce jacket.
