With a life, critical dissertation and explanatory notes by Rev George Gilfillan. John Milton was an English poet, polemicist, man of letters and civil servant, famous for the epic poem Paradise Lost. In original publisher's cloth bindings. Externally, a trifle rubbed with bumping to extremities. Spine cocked. Lifting and loss to backstrip. Joints starting but still reasonably firm. Hinges strained. Ink inscription to front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with only occasional spot. Good

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
