A copy of Beattie's well-known poem The Minstrel; or, The Progress of Genius, which traces the progress of a poetical genius across two books. Other works included in the text are: Ode to Hope, Ode to Peace, The Hermit, The Hares, and Retirement. Written by James Beattie, a Scottish poet, moralist, and philosopher. Bound in straight grained morocco. Externally, smart with rubbing and light wear to the extremities. Fading to the spine and the odd mark to the board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd spot. Very Good

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
