London & New York: T. Fisher Unwin/G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1899. Part of the publisher series "The Story of the Nations." This is a Very Good copy of the First Edition. Decorative green cloth binding, stamped in black, red, and gilt. Clean text; xvi, 340 pages; followed by a twelve-page catalog of "Books for Recreation and Study." This is an Association Copy, with the armorial bookplate of Lord Battersea on the front paste-down; presumed to be Cyril Flower (1845-1907) a Liberal politician and patron of the arts. He was involved in a homosexual scandal in 1902, but was not prosecuted. Frontis illustration of George III; thirty others within. Minor rubbing to the margins; lower tips mildly bumped. . First Edition. Decorative Cloth. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
