About This Item

Erin, ON: THE PORCUPINE'S QUILL, 1993. First Edition . Soft cover. Near Fine. Man's betrayal of beast of the main theme of Outram' s superb book of poetry about an elephant that drowned off New Brunwick's coast in 1836. Some of the poetry is told from the elephant's (Mogul) point of view, others from the ruthless trainers and circus masters. Together they founded The Gauntlet Press in Toronto. Red glossy illustrated wraps. 87pp. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Minor corner wear, slight front cover curling and slight crease to one corner.
