London: Christopheri Wilinson. Complete in 3 vols. Vol. 1: London: Christopheri Wilkinson, 1682. Vol. 2: London: Aliciae Warren, 1661. Vol. 3: Savoy: Tho. Newcomb, 1673. Full leather with raised bands and gilt decorations in the compartments. Vol. 1 is a Second Edition; Vols. 2 and 3 are First Editions. Provenance: Each of the 3 volumes contains the bookplate of Sir Edward Northey, who served as Attorney General from 1701-07 and 1710-18, part of that time for Queen Anne. In his volumes, Dugdale provided a general history of Catholicism, an account of the development of monasteries in England, and descriptions and histories of individual cathedrals, monasteries, priories, hospitals, and towns where ecclesiastical buildings were located. The plates containing drawings, many of them folding, are impressive. Vol. 1 has 65 plates; Volume 2 17 plates; and Vol. 3 30 plates. 1 plate in Vol. 3 stained, a few tears, Very Good. . Very Good. Hardcover. 1682.
