About This Item

1850 Gettysburg Civil War General OWNED Monuments of EGYPT Pyramid Hieroglyphics

"The Monuments of Egypt; or, Egypt a Witness for the Bible" by writer, historian, and Episcopal priest, Francis Lister Hawks is a compilation that links Egyptian monuments with biblical narratives. Designed for general readers, the book synthesizes the research of various scholars in Egyptian archaeology. It features 12 full-page engraved plates and 34 woodcut engravings. Rather than offering original research, Hawks presents existing findings in a reader-friendly format. His aim is to illustrate the intersections between Egypt's historical relics and biblical accounts.
