Binding tight and square; contents clean and unmarked except for Publisher's givt inscription on front free endpaper. San Francisco: Printed and Sold by A. T. Dewey, 1886. HB. Green cloth, gilt and black decorative pattern on front cover, 12mo, xii, 13-166 pp. Decorative endpapers, all edges of text block stained red. Frontis portrait of Bickerdyke. No marks in book, binding solid. Covers show some edge wear, corners bumped, small white spots on rear cover, crease lower front cover. Mary Ann Bickerdyke (July 19, 1817 ­ November 8, 1901), also known as Mother Bickerdyke, was a hospital administrator for Union soldiers during the American Civil War, and a favorite of General Sherman. Book condition VG-.
