Mr. Fortune’s Trials.

by BAILEY (H.C.)

Condition: See description

Methuen & Co. Ltd., 36 Essex Street W.C., London, 1925. Publisher’s inserted Catalogue, 8pp., coded at end ‘425’; pp.vi+250; cream fine linen-textured cloth, ruled, blocked with three large dots, and lettered black on front cover and spine; lower-edges uncut. Small, faint, splash-mark at fore-edge of front cover; spine a little dust-darkened; a little very faint foxing internally; owner’s name in ink on front end-paper; otherwise a nice copy of a title hard to find in acceptable condition because of the rough-textured cream cloth. Short crime stories, except for the last, “The Profiteers”, which is rather a good ghost story. Hubin, p.20. All books listed by Robert Temple are first editions unless otherwise stated.
