About This Item
Chapman and Hall Ltd. London. 1936. FIRST EDITION. 8vo. (7.6 x 5.1 inches). Illustrated frontispiece, reproducing the front cover of the dustwrapper, by Thomas Derrick. Some minor foxing to about a third of the pages. Overall a very good copy in original black and red snakeskin patterned cloth, with the spine lettered in gilt. Some minor rubbing to the extremities of the cloth but overall a very good example of Waugh's first collection of short stories with the gilt still very bright and vibrant.
