New York: Harcourt Brace & Co., 1942. Jacket states new edition with a new story previously unpublished in America. Dark orange boards have sharp tips but spine ends show light wear. Signed on front free endpaper by author (no inscription) with leaflet laid in from the Professional Women's Club of Decaur, Illinois Feb 23, 1943 at which author presumably signed this copy. Name and address printed neatly of former owner on pastedown. Textblock tight and square. Jacket has all 4 flap cut at same angle and no price but no book club stamp on board. Jacket is blue with yellow lettering lightly sunned on spine. Basis for excellent film starring Greer Garson. In mylar. . Signed by Author. 2nd American Edition. Cloth. Very Good Plus/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
