Volume 1: Introduction. The Seagate castle [by Mr. Galloway] Burgh charters and writs. Church grants, l, 245 pages, plates, illus, index. Ten full page plates, Preface signed: John Shedden-Dobie; introduction signed by William Galloway.

Volume 2: Miscellaneous muniments. Council book of Irvine. Excerpts from burgh accounts., xxvi,353 pages, index. Signature of previous owner on front free endpaper. Large and heavy volumes. In cream colored cloth, spine and little on covers have some speckling, assume that the book was stored in a library where the volumes may have been exposed to blowing dust over the years. Stain (water?) on bottom paper edge and bottom corner of cover. The volumes were once part of the Massachusetts Historical Library collection, with its bookplates on front lining papers. Endpapers browned. Overall, good, tight, clean copies. The two volumes: $100.00 Box 132.

Preface signed: John Shedden-Dobie.

"400 copies printed, numbers 54 and 56."

Many of the documents are in Latin, with English translations and abstracts.
