Scarce title, with light pencil notes and underlining by Philippa Shaplin, archaeologist throughout as well as small address sticker with her name and address in Cambridge, MA, where she was registrar of Archaeology and Ethnology at the Peabody Museum. Bound in rust-colored cloth with gilt and blue title on spine, book is heavily ilustrated in black and white and contains one full-color fold out. Paper cover with orange and black tinted image of the murals, in Very Good condition save for slight chip at top right corner. "a classic in the literature on Mesoamerica," according to Michael D. Coe.. Association Copy. Hard Cover. Very Good/Very Good. Large 4to - over 9¾" - 12" Tall.
