Top page edges and front and rear endpapers lightly spotted, else a near fine, tight, square copy in price-clipped dust jacket with light professional restoration to the spine ends and to the bottom half inch of the rear flap. Hildegard Withers, school teacher and amateur detective, finds the body of Anise Halloran, the lovely young music teacher at Jefferson School, in the shadows of the teacher's cloak room. By the time Inspector Piper of the Homicide Squad arrives the body has mysteriously disappeared and a few minutes later the Inspector is knocked out cold. Miss Withers tracks down the ruthless killer. An exceptional copy and very scarce in dust jacket.
