Originally published in 1937 using the title The Laughing Buddha Fine bright copy in dust jacket lightly soiled on white rear cover and with light wear to the spine ends, corners and extremities. A weekend house party given by an American woman in a rented Buddhist temple in the lonely Western Hills of China near the ancient city of Peking is the scene of a fantastic murder and this murder is not to be the last.
