London: Michael Joseph, 1947. No dustwrapper, minor wear to spine ends and corners of black boards but silver titles on spine are still bright. Boots Library label on front board, binding just starting to split inside back cover, but otherwise a not too bad, clean copy of this hard-cover book. The author's account of his first few years as a blind man after losing his sight in 1943 (detached retinas). He worked as a writer for radio and continued to do this with the help of a secretary, and adopted a seeing-eye dog called Wizard. 253pp, b&w frontispiece. Hard Cover. Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Ex-Library.
