New York: Harper & Brothers. Very Good. 1910. First Edition; First Printing. Hardcover. 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 187 pages; 1910 Harper & Brothers HC 1st edition, 1st state printing. Soundly bound in ribbed green cloth with decorative title lettering in gilt and red. Top edge gilt; other edges trimmed. Double frontis portraits of Twain and Howells have the Twain photo uncredited and Howells with his jacket unbuttoned. Superficial shelf rub to cloth at corner tips and spine ends. Offset toning to the endpages, presumably from the (now missing) dust jacket panels. Illustrated with 6 tipped in photo plates on glossy stock; mild foxing to plates and adjacent leaves. A few scattered pages with a mild instance of spotting. VG to VG+ .
