Reynal & Hitchcock, 1941. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. First edition (no additional printings indicated on the cr page). Very Good in a Good dustjacket: binding tight and square, spine gilt very slightly faded, a few white light scratches to the black cover, minimal rubbing and shelf wear to the cloth. The jacket is not price-clipped, shallow chipping at the top of the spine, offsetting and cellophane tape shadows on the verso, substantial toning to the flaps and rear panel. Laid in is an original red cloth armband with round white device sewn on with a gold laurel wreath, sword and swastika. There is a numbered label on the inside. The armband is very lightly soiled and there are no tears.
