Published in 1953, 1953 & 1955 by Hutchinson (London). Stated 'First Published in 1953' on the Volume One and Two copyright pages and 'Reprinted - - November 1955' on the Volume Three copyright page. No dust jackets. Navy hardcovers show light edge-wear, faded spines, and scuffs on the backs. Volume One has noticeable sunfade to the spine, top edges, and top of the rear cover. Volume Two has white smudges on the back near the spine head, as well as faint sunfade to the spine; there is also a small crack forming at the rear inner hinge. Volume Three has a circular dent/impression on the spine, as well as a hard crease at the title page and a cracked binding at page 240; pages 228 to 243 have a slight wave to the topedge of the pages. Navy publisher's stain on the textblock top-edges. Sagging textblocks created smudges on the bottom-edge at the corners. No writing or markings. Black and white photographs throughout. Overall, the set is in Good Plus (G+) condition and includes the following volumes:
