About This Item

Tacoma, WA: Osborne and Dapron. Good. 1920. 1st Edition; 1st Printing. Pamphlet. This is a smaller than trade sized booklet with cardstock covers and a stapled spine. The cardstock covers have several bumps, nicks, and chips missing. The front cover of the book has split from the front spine joint and is separated. The text pages are clean and bright. Scarce Labor booklet which proselytized the anti workers-rights side of trade union issues in the 1920's. This brochure uses the Tom Moony trial as it's backdrop to give an alternate view of Labor relations - Jim Osborne states he was unfairly removed from the trade union for his behavior and actions against the union. "This is the story of the man who says he was denied the right to work at his craft as a union man, denied the right to earn a living for himself, wife and eight children, the right to associate with his own kind of men and the fellow wage earners, etc. Through a ninety-nine year sentence of supsensionby the union to which be belonged. He states that the action was taken because he dared to express his opinion while a strike was in progress..." (from Pacific Builder and Engineer, March 26, 1920) . .
