Paris: Editions Robert Morel, 1969. A Very Good Copy. First Edition. 1/2" Tear on cloth spine. Inscribed by Translator. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall. Text in French. Square 16mo., 217pp. Designed by Odette Ducarre, a collection of Navajo creation myths, translated by F. J. Temple and published by Robert Morel. Gold printed dark brown cloth, with large cover device resembling a wasp nest. This copy is inscribed by the transator to noted artist, Arthur Secunda and his wife. An intriguing note on limitation page uses the language : "Exemplaire hors commerce." Overall, an attractive copy.

Tall Octavo. one of 550 copies, xli pp. preface by Leo Claretie, 249pp., extra-illustrated with double tinted plates with protective tissue guards, exquisitely bound in full red crushed morocco, both boards elaborately decorated in gilt with green onlays while framing a family crest in gilt on upper board, raised bands with compartments lettered and decorated in gilt, full morocco red and blue crushed morocco doublures highly decorated in gilt, silk free endpaper and marbled endpapers, top edge gilt, all others uncut. upper joint professionally repaired and finely done. A very handsome volume.

Octavo. half-title, xxix, 188pp., (1)p. table, bound in 3/4 red morocco over marbled paper covered boards, raised bands with compartments uflly gilt decorated in a floral motif, top edge gilt, marbled endpapers, ribbon marker. This is an historical play by Hugo, first performed by the Comedie-Francaise on 7 May 1843. (as stated on the verso of the title page) It takes place along the Rhine and features the return of Emperor Barbarossa. A lovely copy.

Paris; (nd. ca.1824): Louis Janet and printed by Jules Didot L'aine. 12mo. 294(2)pp., half-title, engraved frontispiece, vignette title page and four other engravings with tissue guards, beautifully bound in a cathedral style binding gilt, raised bands with compartments decorated in gilt and blind, marbled endpapers, inner gilt dentelles, all edges gilt. An occasional spot of foxing, binding very slightly rubbed with tiny chip to head and slight soiling. A very nice copy in lovely binding.

All volumes handsomely bound in navy blue polished calf, raised bands, spine lettering gilt, marbled endpapers with triple ruled gilt turn-ins, all edges gilt, ribbon markers. A fine, bright set.

Paris: Michel Levy Freres, Editeurs, 1872. 12mo. Full page pen & ink drawing with water-color before title page signed Ulysse-Roy. Two other black and white illustrations; one is signed in the plate J[ean].Massard and the other is unidentified, both tipped in between the half-title and title page, with two more black & white illustrations by Massard tipped into the text. 256(1) with the 12 original engraved vignettes by Edmond Morin. The first six chapters of this volume are the result of the first two chapters of the volume entitled: (Madame et Monsieur Cardinal (Mr. and Mrs. Cardinal) published in 1872. OCLC records a limited edition of 25 copies of this work with the original 12 vignettes on Chine and tipped in as opposed to only printed above the text. An additional two copies of an unidentified illustrator with tipped in plates between half-title and tile page, although none are included in collation and does not make mention of a color illustration by Ulysse-Roy.
