Published by Adam & Charles Black, London, 1914, 1st edition. Later half leather binding with marbled boards. Five raised bands to spine. Title in gilt on black leather patch to compartment two. Author in gilt to compartment four. 9ins x 6ins, xx, 324pp plus frontispiece and 3 folding maps. Translated from the French, with a foreword by G. Frederic Lees. Map 3 has a large tear which has been carefully repaired with japanese vellum to the obverse. Attractive copy of a fairly scarce title.
