(Australian Historical Monographs, no XXXII.) #81 of 135 numbered copies (for sale, another 15 were printed for presentation), signed by Mackaness. 72pp, 5 illustrations. Original green stiff yapp-edged wrappers. A very good to fine clean copy. ***First published in six monthly parts in the United Services Journal, June-December 1843 (some brief extracts also appeared in the Launceston Examiner 23 June 1928). This is the first publication in one volume. The original manuscript is in the Mitchell Library. .

Sydney. D.S. Ford, Printers. 1955. Soft cover. tall8vo, 24cm, ,72p., Limited to 135 copies, with 7 plate illustrations, in the original printed card wraps, a very good to fine copy. (ads) Sir John Franklin served as the Lieutenant-Governor of Tasmania from 1836 to 1843. Australian playwright and Scottish immigrant, David Burn (1800-1875) accompanied the Franklins on an expedition to the west coast of Tasmania in 1842. Consequently, he published "Overland Journey" in six monthly numbers in "The United Services' Journal" on 1843. This reprint is Number XXXII of the "Australian Historical Monographs" series.
