About This Item

Second printing. Book is in fine condition. 323 pages.
Published on the occasion of an exhibition held at the Staatsgalerie Moderner Kunst, in Munich, Nov. 27, 1987-Jan. 31, 1988. This catalogue includes articles and documents reconstructing the exhibition of degenerate art, "Entartete Kunst", and the contrasting exhibition of "Deutsche Kunst", both held in Munich in 1937. Works of modernist art were condemned as degenerate and compared to the works of patients in mental hospitals.
