Hardcover. Fair. New York and London: Harper & Brothers Publishers, 1940. Stated First Edition (Most likely First Book Club Edition). Hardcover. 5 ½ x 8 ½”. 359 pp. Fair. No dust jacket. Rubbing and soiling to the boards with fraying to the extremities. Address in ink on the front pastedown and name blacked out in ink on the front and rear pastedown. Previous owner’s bookplate on the front free endpaper and Santa Claus sticker on the rear free endpaper. Minor to moderate soiling to some of the inside pages. Otherwise the text appears unmarked. The binding is shaken and splitting in areas, but it is still intact.
