Longmans, Green and Co., London, 1909. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. Limited to 550 copies, this is #48. Folio. Publisher's gilt-stamped red cloth, top edges gilt. Complete with 18 chromolithographic plates, 17 photogravures, and 2 other illustrations, all with tissue guards. The volume is edge rubbed, has bumped corners and spine ends, with a bit of fraying on the spine tail, the spine has some soiling, and the spine lettering is a bit faded. A small bookseller's label is affixed to the base of the rear pastedown, a bookplate of noted sports collector Edward Sands Litchfield is attached to the front pastedown, and the endpapers are lightly toned. This is an oversized volume. International orders will require additional postage.
