Most tissue guards present if a bit wrinkled. Large paper copy limited to 600 copies, this being 324. very good An attractively produced book on British surface-feeding ducks. The plates are an interesting mix of engravings, illustrations, colour photographs and 8 fine chromolithographs by A Thorburn. Of interest to both the hunter and natural historian, this book details the life histories of several species, including the Mallard, Gadwall, Wigeon, Teal, and Pintail. 1902

With 41 full-page plates by Thorburn and Millais, 14 of which are high quality chromolithographs printed by W. Greve, Berlin, six photogravures and 25 other monochrome illustrations.
