Sir William Jardine was a 19th-century Scottish naturalist most known for his extensive series of books on natural history, 'The Naturalist's Library'.
This edition of Jardine's 'Mammalia' is beautifully color illustrated with engravings of various species of mammals! The plates from Jardine's works are exceedingly desirable and are found framed and displayed by themselves. This volume showcases African animals such as buffalo, gazelles, and sheep, American Bison, goats, oxen, and cows. These hand-colored plates are tremendously beautiful! An excellent piece!
