Sir William Jardine was a 19th-century Scottish naturalist most known for his extensive series of books on natural history, 'The Naturalist's Library'.
This edition of Jardine's 'Ornithology' is beautifully color illustrated with engravings of various species of birds! The plates from Jardine's works are exceedingly desirable and are found framed and displayed by themselves. This volume showcases game birds and other gallinaceous birds such as partridges, quails, grouses, and the ortyx and ortygis.
