Macmillan & Co., 1874. Fair. 12mo. 180 x 125mm, 108 pages. Detailed line drawings. Book condition: Fair, gilt decorated brown boards have a couple of 'ink' spots on rear cover, ex-lib. (Aldenham School Library) with book bequeathed sticker inside board, name on endpaper, odd numbers on endpapers, mainly firm binding, rubbing to corners and spine with some minor loss. (Not as bad as it sounds!!). Comments: An early study into the origins of the metamorphosis process in insects, the influences and the nature of it; with some detailed line drawings.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Fair/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
