About This Item

A tight and unmarked copy with wear on spine edges -binding is sound- " Nature's Medicines is a very insightful book all about plants and herbs that can be found in nature and used medicinally. Over the years modern science and medicine have taken a route that is not natural. Today the medical field relies very heavily on synthetic drugs that merely mimic what can be found in nature. This book shows that with a little digging we can find many remedies that come from nature. For example, did you know that mold that produces penicillin lives on the leaves of hyssop trees? Did you know that garlic is a perfectly wonderful cure for diphtheria, tuberculosis, typhus, pneumonia, diarrhea, colds, high blood pressure and so much more? Just think! Garlic is only one plant and there are so many more with just as many benefits! One thing I value about this book is that there is so much practical knowledge and wisdom to be gained about the natural world by reading it. Granted, it cannot teach you everything about herbs and medicine, but it provides a big head start! I also like that the author uses a lot of support from other publications/authors to validate his statements. One thing that I feel could have been better is the extent to which some herbs are explained and talked about. Sometimes there was not a lot of information about certain herbs that I would have liked to know more about. Overall, I really appreciate and enjoy the content in this book. It is something I have learned from and plan to put to use in my life. I recommend that everybody who has an interest in natural remedies and medicine, in general, read this book. I promise that you will at least find it practical, if not also extremely interesting!"- Heath Kennedy
