Royal octavo (9 3/4" x 6 1/4") Foreword by Frederick Webb Hodge. Color pictorial cloth in Navajo weaving pattern design. There are two color lithographs (One folding of a Navajo weaving pattern (23 3/4" x 17") and one of a Navajo Chief Blanket from 1900. Revised edition. First published in 1934 by the Fine Arts Press of Santa Ana.

This is the book on Navajo textiles, scholarly, readable, significant, and beautiful. This posthumous second edition is slightly revised in the light of subsequent findings, and contains a foreword by the director of the Southwest Museum, where Amsden was employed at the time of his premature death.

Condition:

Joints and extremities lightly rubbed, slight soiling; previous owner's signature on front paste down. Better than very good issued without dust jacket.
