New York: George Sully and Company, 1918 Gray cloth with blue and black pictorial cover. Presumed First Edition. Part of the Navy Boys Series; verso of title page lists two others and this title in the series, and all were published in 1918. Single black-and-white illustration at frontis. Single page at rear lists other juvenile titles by this publisher. Cover cloth deteriorating and age-browned, with moderate darkening to spine (original cloth color may have been light blue) and weave of cloth starting to show through. Heavy foxing to frontispiece, verso, and adjoining pages. Text pages age-browned. Clean and tight with only faint wear.
