About This Item

New York: Macmillan, 1914. Very good first edition of this collection of short stories, all told by the redoubtable Calliope Marsh. Very good condition (giver's inscription on first free endpaper dated 1914--NOT by the author but rather sweet in its wording, sticker remnants on front and back pastedowns, soiled and worn spine although cover is quite attractive and bright). Eleven short stories with an interesting introduction by the author. A section of advertisements for other contemporary books published by Macmillan follows the text and helps to place these stories in their historical context--Jacob Riis, Jack London, etc.. 1st Edition. Hard Cover.
