Cleveland, Ohio: Jax Publishing, 1958. Paperback. Good +. 39, [1] p.: illustrations; 21 cm. Light blue illustrated card covers printed in red and black; stapled. Price stamped on front cover. Fletcher A. Reynolds was the director of the Cleveland Zoo from 1942 until his death in 1957. This publication contains short descriptions of 12 animals found in the zoo, presented for children as interviews conducted by the unfortunately named Rastus Chimpanzee, the zoo's reporter. The animals interviewed are: the zebra, pied hornbill, sea lion, rhinoceros, hippopotamus, tiger, lion, elephant, polar bear, ostrich, Kodiak bear, and Baltimore Oriole. P. 39 contains an advertisement for a short film about the Cleveland Zoo available free from Sun Ray Films and the Cleveland Public Library. Scarce. In Good+ Condition: discoloration along edges of cover; pages are clean and tight.
