Text is clean and unmarked on a bright, tight, and square binding. Volume appears unused. Color illustrations throughout. Slipcase is in near fine condition. There is a light narrow and small stain on the bottom front of the slipcase. "From the perspective of an era engulfed by print and television, it can be seen that Nelson and Emma were made for the media and, to an extent, were made by them. Newspapers in a form we would recognize were on the increase, books were multiplying, as were prints of the most famous portraits and battle pieces, and original satirical engravings by Gillray, Issaac Cruikshank and others...Nelson and Emma can claim to be the earliest media 'stars.'
