The work that first brought Wylie her literary recognition, including her most anthologised poem 'Velvet Shoes'.Wylie's poetry is described as highly polished, articulate and deeply emotional, which was owed much to her favour of the British Romantic poets, particularly Percy Bysshe Shelley. In Wylie's private life, she became notorious for her multiple affairs and marriages, a direct rebellion against the high society woman her parents raised her to play. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, excellent with slight rubbing and bumping to the extremities, heaviest to the head and tail of spine. Internally, firmly bound.
