Stuttgart: Stahle & Friedel, N.D.. Portfolio. Very Good with No dust jacket as issued. Quarter tan cloth over paper boards. All 15 images present, plus an additional print (Verkündigung an Maria) and extra copies of Golgotha and Abendmabl. Portfolio has scrape on front, tanning, light dampstaining, with flaps peeling at hinges. Prints have light foxing but many are nearly pristine. Am Tor des Todes is edge bumped, tissue papers yellowed with some creasing. Etra 3 prints have more foxing and light creasing than the others.Two calligraphy mauscripts laid in. The first appears to be a calligraphy copy of "The Emperor's Vision" from Christ Legends and Other Stories by Selma Lagerlöf. Unbound sheets folded as folio (37 cm, 16 pp used with 4 blank), signed Erwin Alelberger, June 1926. In good condition with light dampstianing/tanning with ink marks on blank pages, artist's pencil marks including unfinished capital. The second manuscript has author unknown , unbound sheets folded as folio (33 cm, 17 pp used, 2 blank), in good condition with small scuffs and spots on outer pages, a few corners bumped or creased. ; Erwin Adelberger (1905-1986) immigrated from Germany to the United States before World War II. Otto Weidenmann (1869-1957) was a German artist whose religious prints are exceptional. ; 14.6" (37 cm) tall; 18 pages.
