A clean, tightly bound copy; the only marking is previous owner name penned and custom bookplate affixed to half-title page. Pages fresh and fine. Red stain to top edge. Printed map endpapers fine. Black hardcover, title gilt stamped on spine is clean with very little wear. Binding and hinges firm, intact and straight. Pictorial jacket is clean, moderately shelf worn; chips to spine ends and corner tips, a few closed tears and creases along edges and flap folds. Jacket flaps are shallow clipped, $2.75 price intact on front flap. Jacket is in a clear archival protector. A novel of the Revolutionary War from the perspective of a narrow strip of land between opposing armies, the 'neutral ground' in New York's Westchester County. Hough published two earlier historical novels based on the Revolution. Hough served as a Marine Corps officer in WWII and wrote several important books on WWII battles. 5-1/2 x 8"; 525 pages.
