A popular reader, successor to Eleanor Fenn's Cobwebs to Catch Flies and with a similar arrangement of sentences of words of three, four, and five letters and then words of an increasing number of syllables. Ink presentation inscription on the preserved original endpaper ' Mary Palmer Maidencourt [East Garston, Berks.] 11th Nov. 1838. With Aunt Williams kind love.'
