About This Item
London: Printed and Sold By Dean & Munday, 1813. Book. Very Good. Hardback. First Edition Thus. 16mo (8.5 x 14cm). "Embellished and illustrated with upwards of four hundred Engravings on Wood". Dated 1813 to title page. Possibly wanting a frontispiece plate? Contents in excellent condition, pp. iv, 5-[1]06, [117]-138 + 2 pages of publishers adverts for "Religious and Juvenile Books..." The verses of the Bible are followed by "The Life of our Blesed Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ', followed by "The Lives of the Holy Evangelists". Despite the odd pagination which omits pages 107-116 the book is complete. Contents clean and tight, edges crisp, possibly slightly trimmed when rebound. Bound in modern plain green rexine cloth with gilt lettering to the spine, fine. Very scarce - Copac records only one copy (at Oxford) and that slightly different as the title page states "Printed by Dean & Munday, ... for Lackington, Allen, & Co., ..., " whereas in this copy Lackington, Allen, & co are not mentioned.1813.
