London: Published by the Author Hardcover. xxxvi, 439 pages + ad. Good- (minus) condition. "A New Edition" publication date not stated. Size 6.875"x4.5". Purple cloth. The plates, numbering to 30, are not colored, and additionally include the frontis & title page from the Huddersfield edition, the 24 Classes of Linnaus (sic), and 2 anatomical plates. Missing are pp xxvii-xxx, and plates 15, 16, 19, and 20. The missing material appears not to have been bound into this copy. Includes Index of Plants, and Index to Remedies and Medical Preparations. Book's exterior has shelfwear and sunned spine. Bookseller's, previous owner's, and research institute's stamps & labels on front endpapers. Text has moderate foxing and wear. Binding is stressed (not loose) at the interior margins from handling.. Good-.

Richard Brook, London, 1111. Hardcover. Good. Fourth Edition. 450 pages. No dust jacket. Green cloth covered boards with gilt to leather patch on spine. Colour illustrations. Pages with some foxing and tanning, particularly to endpapers and textblock edges. Binding remains firm. Minor pencil inscriptions to front free endpaper and pastedown. Boards have moderate shelf wear with mild bumping and fraying to corners and crushing and fraying to spine ends. All surfaces heavily tanned, particularly spine. Some additional marks and staining to surfaces. Some wrinkling to cloth.
