Mild age toning of text pages; bookplate on front pastedown. The book that started it all: A handsome custom-bound first edition of this satire written in epic Biblical style, with much Lincoln and Civil War commentary. It spawned a couple of sequels -- "Book Second" later the same year and "Book Third" in 1864, the trio then published together in one volume in 1866. HOWES W368. MONAGHAN 256.
