Pale blue textured paper covered boards, titles stamped in blue on the cover and spine. Title page and section heads printed in blue and black. Former owner signature in ink on front flyleaf: "Richard Beale Davis HEH 1957." Printed by Anderson & Ritchie: the Ward Ritchie Press. Edition limited to 1000, this copy not numbered. Spine and board edges sunned, leaves crisp and bright. Seventeenth-century documents from the Huntington Library promoting English colonization of the New World, with Wright's introduction.

From the collection of Davis, the renowned scholar of early Southern literature and intellectual life whose Intellectual Life in the Colonial South, 1585-1763 won the 1979 National Book Award for history. Now housed in a removable, clear archival jacket.
