McGraw-Hill Book Company, 1967. Hard Cover. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. A Weekly Reader Children's Book Club Book. Set in 1870 in CALIFORNIA, STORY OF PORTUGUESE BOY NICOLAU TERRA & HIS FAMILY IN THE DAYS OF WHALING. Nicolau feels left out in his new community. Then he is able to win the respect of his classmates during a shipwreck at sea and feel at home. Ages 7 to 11. Rubbing on spine edges, and outside e dges, top & bottom of the spine and all 4 outside corners. The inside of the back cover next to the spine you can see where there is tearing where the staples are. Still strong spine though..
