This is the original 1936 edition of the play script (which followed the version that was originally entitiled "Woman on Trial". This is a small paperback / booklet with blue cardstock covers and a side stapled binding. The book is in Very Good - condition and was issued without a dust jacket. The covers have toning and foxing along with some edge wear, creasing and small spots of rubbing / paper loss. The text pages are mostly clean and bright and there is an ink stamp of the Banner Play Bureau, Inc (of San Francisco) on the title page. "Ayn Rand (born ; February 2 January 20] 1905 – March 6, 1982) was a Russian-American novelist, philosopher, playwright, and screenwriter. She is known for her two best-selling novels, The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged, and for developing a philosophical system she called Objectivism. Educated in Russia, she moved to the United States in 1926. She had a play produced on Broadway in 1935 and 1936." .

Pink Royalty Notice tipped to copyright page. An early printing without any First Edition statement & with no numerical reference. A near fine or better copy. This was the author's first play & the only one to succeed during her lifetime. Originally titled by Rand, "Penthouse Legend", the play was first produced in Holywood under the title "Woman on Trial", but later Broadway produced under the title Night of January 16th. This version edited by Nathaniel Edward Reeid, was published in play book form for performance by amateur companies. This title was not issued in hardcover until 1968. Perinn B3.
